Join our team as a Network Security Engineer (Hybrid – Lisbon)!

What You’ll Do:

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise firewall solutions, with a strong focus on Check Point environments.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize firewall policies, ensuring secure and efficient traffic flow across the organization.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network security incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal service disruption.
• Manage and support multi-vendor firewall infrastructures, including Check Point, Palo Alto, and Barracuda.
• Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Perform firewall rule reviews, audits, and optimization to improve performance and security posture.
• Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure secure integration of systems and services.
• Support incident response activities, including investigation, root cause analysis, and remediation of security events.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base related to firewall and network security operations.
• Continuously assess and improve network security architecture and recommend enhancements.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in network security, with strong hands-on expertise in firewall administration.
• Proven experience with Check Point firewalls (primary focus), including policy management, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Experience with other firewall vendors such as Palo Alto and Barracuda is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, and security concepts.
• Experience in monitoring, analyzing, and resolving network security incidents.
• Familiarity with security best practices, compliance standards, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex network environments.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Portuguese proficiency at a professional level (minimum B2).
• Living in Portugal and available to work in a hybrid model.
