Join our team as a Linux Operating Systems Engineer (Hybrid – Lisbon, Porto)!

What You’ll Do:

• Generate Linux Operating System images for embedded devices, including device driver development and networking configuration.
• Port the Operating System to embedded platforms (ARM / PPC based).
• Participate in the complete development cycle, including design, implementation, testing, and validation.
• Develop and adapt Linux kernel and user-space components.
• Work closely with an R&D team in a collaborative, informal, and dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Linux development in both user and kernel space, including device drivers and Linux Preempt RT extensions.
• Experience with OS image generation tools (Yocto, OpenEmbedded).
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Scripting skills in Python and Bash.
• Experience with version control tools (Git, SVN).
• Knowledge of communication networks (protocols, topologies, configurations).
• Experience with cross-compiling environments (GCC, toolchains) is a plus.
• Knowledge of RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, etc.) is a plus.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts (secure protocols, certificates, SSH, LDAP, filesystem encryption, TPM, firewalls) is a plus.
• Experience in networking application development (Layer 2/3), real-time synchronization (IEEE 1588v2/PTP) or virtualization (Docker, KVM) is a plus.
• Team-oriented mindset, self-organization, and strong results orientation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for continuous learning.
• Portuguese and English proficiency at a professional level (minimum B2).
• Living in Portugal and available to work in a hybrid model.
