Join our team as a Kubernetes Database Engineer (Hybrid – Porto)!
What You’ll Do:
- Deploy, manage, and optimize stateful database workloads on Kubernetes, with a primary focus on PostgreSQL
- Implement persistent storage solutions, backup and restore pipelines, data replication, and HA/DR strategies
- Develop automation for provisioning, upgrades, and scaling using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent)
- Monitor and troubleshoot database and cluster performance
- Enforce security standards including RBAC, encryption, secrets management, and network policies
- Collaborate with DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Development teams to design and evolve database-as-a-service patterns
- Contribute to international projects and influence current and future technology choices
- Participate in shift-based operations and on-call rotations
Qualifications:
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible or equivalent)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes security practices: RBAC, secrets management, network policies, and encryption
- Experience working in shift-based or on-call operational models
- Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
