Join our team as a Data Cloud Platform Architect (Hybrid – Porto)!
What You’ll Do:
- Design, build, and scale cloud-based data platforms primarily on AWS, with some exposure to Azure
- Lead large-scale data migration and optimization initiatives
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform
- Build and maintain scalable, efficient data pipelines using best-practice cloud architectures
- Implement and manage Iceberg tables for large-scale dataset storage and performance optimization
- Develop high-quality data solutions using Python and SQL, setting and enforcing coding standards
- Create Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and production-grade prototypes to define data engineering standards
- Orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow and AWS Step Functions
- Design and operate ETL pipelines handling high-volume data, including streaming data where applicable
- Establish and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards
- Set up, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workloads
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver analytics and data engineering solutions
- Contribute to analytics and engineering tasks using Azure Databricks (where applicable)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services and exposure to Azure data services
- Proven experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools
- Demonstrated leadership in large-scale data migration and performance optimization projects
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
- Hands-on experience with Iceberg tables and large dataset management
- Solid understanding of AWS cloud architecture best practices
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow and AWS Step Functions
- Experience building ETL pipelines for large data volumes; Kafka experience preferred
- Ability to define, implement, and enforce data governance and security standards
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (C1 level or higher)
- Living in Portugal and available to work in a hybrid model (Porto).
