Join our team as an Application Support Engineer L2/L3 (Hybrid – Lisbon)!
What You’ll Do:
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 application support for business-critical systems.
- Monitor applications and infrastructure to ensure service availability and performance.
- Analyze and resolve technical and functional incidents, performing root cause analysis when necessary.
- Manage monitoring tools and alerting mechanisms to proactively detect and address potential issues.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency and service management.
- Collaborate with technical and functional teams to investigate incidents and implement solutions.
- Analyze application flows and system behavior to support troubleshooting and service improvements.
- Contribute to the automation of operational tasks and support processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support materials.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal tools, processes, and monitoring strategies.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for remote night support, shared across the team.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in Application Support roles (L2/L3).
- Strong knowledge of SQL (including MySQL) for troubleshooting and data analysis.
- Experience working with UNIX/Linux operating systems (AIX knowledge is a plus).
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, particularly TCP/IP.
- Experience working with REST APIs for troubleshooting and service integrations.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Shell/Bash, Python, Perl, or similar.
- Experience with application monitoring and incident management in production environments.
- Strong analytical skills combining technical and functional understanding of applications.
- Ability to analyze and improve operational processes and internal tools.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and functional teams.
- Living in Portugal and available to work in a hybrid model in Lisbon.
