Join our team as a Terraform & Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Engineer (Hybrid – Lisbon)!
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain reusable, parameterized Terraform modules for automated cloud infrastructure provisioning.
- Manage Terraform state, remote backends, workspaces, and state-locking mechanisms.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure deployment through controlled plan and apply workflows.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices to ensure infrastructure consistency, reproducibility, security, and scalability.
- Define and enforce governance, security, and compliance policies using Policy as Code frameworks.
- Manage version control, branching strategies, code reviews, and repository organization using Git.
- Integrate infrastructure provisioning with secrets management and encryption solutions, such as HashiCorp Vault, AWS KMS, and Azure Key Vault.
- Apply cloud security best practices across networking, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and infrastructure configurations.
- Automate infrastructure operations and reduce manual effort using scripting and automation tools.
- Document infrastructure architecture, Terraform modules, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to improve infrastructure automation and delivery processes.
- Ensure infrastructure deployments follow established security, governance, and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering and operations.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Terraform in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform and HashiCorp Configuration Language (HCL).
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Solid understanding of Terraform state management, workspaces, remote backends, and module development.
- Proficiency in Git and modern branching strategies, such as GitFlow or trunk-based development.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
- Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, and cloud security principles.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code governance, security, and compliance best practices.
- Strong autonomy, problem-solving skills, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Good technical documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams in a DevOps environment.
- Fluent in Engish and based in Portugal.
